Year 7: Exploring Colour Theory with Acrylic Paint
Our Year 7 students are experimenting and exploring acrylic painting as they prepare to create their own abstract artworks. They are using primary colours to create secondary and tertiary colours and tested a variety of painting techniques to prepare.
Students have also recreated famous artworks with their own twist, taking inspiration from artists Bronwyn Bancroft and Ted Harrison. Through investigating these artists’ works, they’ve learned how to describe, analyse and reflect on art with precision and creativity.
In addition to their experimentation, students have shown fantastic problem-solving skills when working with paint. We are so proud of how responsibly they have managed their materials, keeping their palettes clean, brushes washed, and workspaces tidy. Outstanding work, Year 7!
