Principal's Report

Dear Parents/Guardians and Friends of Nazareth
As was communicated last week, our Principal Sam Cosentino has been asked to assist De La Salle College in Malvern while they advertise for a new Principal. We are therefore now in the role of Acting Co-Principals. We are hoping that the arrangements cause as little disruption as possible to staff, students and parents.
We had some fantastic celebrations of our 40 Years last week. On Monday, we opened the time capsule from 2005. It was great to see the collection of memorabilia inside. The preserved school uniforms in particular reminded many of us of times past. It was great to have two of our previous Principals, Mr Paul D’Astoli and Mrs Anne McDonald, in attendance. Assisting with the opening were several of the people who sealed the time capsule: Ms Sharon Armstrong, Graeme Smith, Loren Imbriano, Melinda Sarian and Nancy Cardamone. A big thank you to Amy Lazar and Angie Palmer for their work organising this event. We also had the Nazareth Mass, celebrated by one of our old boy Priests, Father Cameron Smith. This was an opportunity to give thanks to God for all of the blessing on our Nazareth Community over the years and also to ask for God’s blessing and guidance in the years ahead. Thank you to Mr Peter Stewart and his team for organising this Mass. Finally, we had the Nazareth Talent Quest. Congratulations to all the participants, particularly to Emily Diaz from Year 8 who won the contest.
Both the Nazareth Mass and the Talent Quest were attended by a number of parents and family members. We thank those who attended for your support and welcome the involvement of families where we can.
Thursday was an exciting day, where the whole school attended the Nazareth Day Assembly and then went to the original house of fun, Luna Park! Congratulations to the following students who were presented with a Faith, Wisdom or Knowledge Award:
Knowledge Awards:
Amelia Lee & Zoe Casequin
Danny Farr & Andrew Dinh
Victoria Kammel
Wisdom Awards:
Ava Giannopoulos
Gabriella Kakerissa
Jordan Tissera
Faith Awards:
Jiwoo Kim
It was quite an exercise to get the whole school on the buses to get to Luna Park. We had a total of 22 buses! A big thank you to Ms Ruth Sharp for organising the buses and to Mr Lee Perry for organising the booking of the venue. Thanks to staff for supervisions and a big thank you to our students who were extremely well behaved!
Classes conclude on Thursday 18 September at 2:30pm due to the Year 7-10 online student progress meetings.
We wish you all a lovely refreshing school holidays. We hope it is a time of relaxation and family time. We look forward to welcoming students back in Term 4 on Monday 6 October.
God Bless
