Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

END OF TERM
It is incredible to think that the term is nearly over. In a special way even more so for our Year 12 students as there are just two weeks of scheduled classes once Term 4 commences. We wish them especially all the best as they commence their trial exams soon and have the holiday break along with some study within it for the last time as Nazareth students.
It has been a great term and I think we are continuing to see our community grow not only in number, but also in our approach to our learning and to other members of the community. There is, of course, further growth and improvement that we desire, but we celebrate the improvement we have seen.
At the bigger school events such as whole school Masses and assemblies we are receiving consistent feedback about the improvement of students’ behaviour and have clearly seen the the way students are presenting themselves. The recent Nazareth Mass and the Opening of the Time Capsule was a wonderful community celebration, and the Luna Park visit will long be in my memory for the faces of some of the students as they came into the park smiling and so excited and happy to be there.
I would like to congratulate all students and staff for the great way we have celebrated together this 40th anniversary. The behaviour of our students has made us all very proud to be Nazarenes.
CHILD SAFETY
We are continually working on our Child Safe Risk Register at the College. If you have any concerns, issues or ideas as to how we can improve in this important area, please do not hesitate to contact our Child Safety Team as we would love to hear your suggestions.
We hosted our open Child Safety Meeting on Monday, 15 September 2025. Some International and Domestic Students from different backgrounds shared of some of the challenges of trying to live in our culture while remaining true to their culture of origin. It was a blessing to be able to listen, staff and parents, guardians and carers to these students and gives us some things to reflect on as we work to support both students and families.
STAFFING
We recently held an evening for prospective staff who may be interested in working at Nazareth College. We had over 30 people register which was a fantastic effort and it was a great night. We have in recent years recruited some wonderful new staff and as we continue to grow in numbers we will next year also be employing a number of new staff members. We are currently advertising for some positions and will continue to do so as we work on staffing for next year. We have just recently had all students subject preferences processed so we now move to the staffing of all the classes we will be running in 2026.
