Careers News

In Aussie Rules Football, the third quarter is famously known as the Premiership Quarter—the moment where grit, strategy, and effort shape the final outcome.
At Nazareth, Term 3 carries that same weight. It’s the time when students dig deep, make bold decisions, and lay the groundwork for triumph in Term 4 and beyond.
Here’s how the Careers Team has been laying the groundwork this term:
Year 9 and 10s began their first foray into serious subject selection, making decisions about acceleration and pathways. The VET Spectacular, Careers Expo and Course Advice Days all played a part in making informed decisions. Some students (and caregivers) have come to the realisation that it’s important to make decisions based on student strengths, prerequisites and asking knowledgeable people.
Year 10s are finding jobs, writing cover letters, and looking at their social media presence as a way to be a successful job applicant when resumes and mock interviews occur in Term 4.
Year 11s experienced firsthand what life at university may be like. So many students took this as a motivation to spur them on to achieve their best and set up good habits to achieve in Year 12. Others had the nerves of attending a Uni Open Day vanquished, hopefully encouraging visiting more than one institution in Year 12 to see which place is the best fit.
At the forefront of our minds are the Year 12s who are now moving away from what might be a path to making some tough choices. All Year 12s have had an opportunity to work with the Careers Team to look at employment opportunities, make VTAC applications and decide preferences for further study. It’s a time of transition, reflection, and bold steps forward.
As Term 3 wraps up, we celebrate the dedication of both staff and students. The Careers Team has worked tirelessly to guide, support, and empower—and now, it’s over to our Nazareth students to bring that same energy into Term 4. Let’s finish strong and celebrate the success we’ve built together!
