Assistant Principal's Report

Mr Louis Turner AP Wellbeing and engagement

Congratulations to all our students and staff on a fantastic start to the 2026 school year. Term One has been marked by a strong sense of energy and optimism across Greensborough College, with students settling quickly into routines and engaging positively in their learning. As the term draws to a close, I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break with time to relax and connect with family and friends.

There has been much to celebrate already this year. It has been particularly pleasing to see our students consistently demonstrating our school values of courage, aspiration, respect, and equality. Our positive behaviour program continues to thrive, with thousands of merits awarded across the school. Our Year 7 students have made an outstanding start, leading the way not only in merits but also in the way they have embraced secondary school—building friendships, navigating the school confidently, and forming positive relationships with staff. We also enjoyed welcoming families at our Year 7 Welcome BBQ, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect and celebrate this important transition.

Harmony Week, including the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, was once again a highlight of the term. It was fantastic to see so many students wearing orange and engaging in activities that celebrated diversity and inclusion. These moments reflect the strength of our community and our shared commitment to equality.

Attendance and readiness to learn have remained key priorities. It has been encouraging to see continued improvement in attendance across the school. We also appreciate the support of families in ensuring students come to school organised and ready to learn each day, including bringing a fully charged laptop. These habits make a significant difference to student learning and classroom engagement.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for contributing to such a positive and productive start to the year. I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to welcoming you back for another successful term.
