All Saints Learn to Swim Making an Industry Impact

The All Saints’ College Learn to Swim program continues to build a strong reputation within the aquatic industry, with its innovative approach being recognised by leading organisations including AUSTSWIM, the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA), Royal Life Saving WA (RLSS WA) and Swimming Australia.

In June, Learn to Swim Coordinator Kim McMinn was invited to present at the 10th Anniversary Spectrum Space Symposium WA, Western Australia’s leading autism conference. His presentation highlighted the importance of providing the right swimming program for every individual, and demonstrated how truly inclusive, neuro-affirming swimming lessons can have a positive impact well beyond the pool.

Several members of the Learn to Swim team also attended a professional development day hosted by ASSA. The training explored contemporary teaching practices, including innovative approaches to stroke development, understanding the diverse needs of learners, and delivering engaging, effective water safety education.

Adding to the College’s growing industry recognition, Aleisha Nelson (Class of 2023 and Learn to Swim teacher) was invited to participate in a Generation Z industry panel during the professional development day. The panel provided valuable insights into engaging and supporting the next generation of aquatic professionals, and highlighted the contribution our team is making to the future of the industry.

Next month, Kim will represent All Saints’ College at the ASSA National Conference on the Gold Coast. As part of the conference, he has been invited to join an industry leaders panel to discuss swim school leadership, management and best practice alongside some of Australia’s leading aquatic professionals.

New Adult Learn to Swim Program

Semester 2 marks the launch of our new Adult Learn to Swim Program. The program has been designed for adults who have never had the opportunity to learn to swim, as well as those wanting to improve their confidence or refine their technique. Lessons are delivered in a supportive and welcoming environment where participants can learn at their own pace while celebrating every achievement along the way.

A New Ongoing Learn to Swim Program

This semester also sees the introduction of our new ongoing enrolment model.

Rather than enrolling each school term, families can now join the program at any time throughout the year, with convenient monthly direct debit payments. The new model provides greater flexibility, more frequent assessments and smoother progression through the program, allowing swimmers to advance as soon as they are ready without waiting for the start of a new term.

We look forward to welcoming many new and returning families to the pool throughout Semester 2.
