Student Achievements

Joshua gets Taekwondo Gold, twice!

Congratulations to Joshua Soh (Year 11) who recently travelled to the Gold Coast to compete in the World Taekwondo Oceania President’s Cup and Australian Open. After years of hard work which came with challenges including injury, he walked away with two gold medals. He also recently travelled to Korea to compete at the Kimunyeong Cup where he got a bronze medal. We are very proud of Joshua’s achievements and wish him all the best for later in the year where he will compete in the Australian Taekwondo National Championships in Canberra.

School Sport WA State Team

With many of the School Sport Australia national championships taking place this semester, we would like to congratulate the following students who have been selected in School Sport WA state teams. 

Isabella Leniartek (Year 12) – Golf 18s State Team

Bailey McCormick (Year 8) – Hockey 15s Girls’ State Team

Bridget Wallace (Year 11) – Swimming 13s–19s State Team

Callum & Lucas Johnston (Year 11) – Reserves, Basketball 16s Boys’ State Team

We wish them all the best as they travel across Australia to compete at School Sport Australia national competitions! 

Alliance Française French Poem Recitation Finalists

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Atharv Palsodkar and Isabel Tjandra-Ong (Year 10), Arohi Boodhoo and Kate De Abreu (Year 7) who participated in the 2026 French Poem Recitation Finals. The Grand Final was held on Saturday 27 June at the Alliance Française premises in Nedlands.

Throughout the competition, students were encouraged to explore the meaning, themes and emotions of the poems selected by Alliance Française. This process allowed them to develop their critical thinking and interpretive skills, while deepening their appreciation of French language and culture.

Reaching the finals and reciting a poem before a panel of judges is testament to the students’ dedication, perseverance and passion for French.

We also congratulate Shannen Leung (Year 10) and Parshva Shah (Year 8), who were selected among the 20 finalists but, unfortunately, were unable to attend the Grand Final.

Bravo to all these students. They represented the College with pride and have been wonderful ambassadors for French language learning.

Student Achievements 

The College acknowledges the following students on their recent achievements:

Ha Yoon Kim (Year 7) performed at the Fremantle Eisteddfod, achieving First Place in Strings Recital (Age 13 and under), Strings Classical Sonata (Age 13 and under), Small Ensemble Open (Piano Trio), Concerti (Age 15 and under) and Overall Junior String Player. She has been accepted into the Australian Chamber Orchestra Academy 

Chloe Lin (Year 3) competed at the World Open Online Music Competition and achieved First Place in the Grande Performance level. She also achieved Second Place in the Grade Four division at the Fremantle Eisteddfod.

Ellie Liang (Year 6) achieved Second Place at Fremantle Eisteddfod in the Musical Theatre Solo Age 12 and Under category. 

Esther Goh (Year 6) achieved Third Place at the State School Golf Championship in the Girls Stableford division. 

Madeleine Wen (Year 3) placed third in backstroke at the State School Junior Swimming Championships. 

Dora Zhao (Year 5), Jordann Soh (Year 6) and Kate De Abreu (Year 7) achieved First Place at the Fremantle Eisteddfod in the Vocal group age 13 and under category.
