CIS Swimming Championships

Twelve of our talented swimmers represented Moama Anglican Grammar and RAS at the CIS Swimming Championships held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. Across 44 events, our students achieved 17 personal bests, reflecting their hard work, resilience and dedication in the lead-up to this exciting opportunity.

This is a significant achievement, and we are incredibly proud of each student who competed at this prestigious event.

"On Sunday 4 May, we arrived in Sydney to prepare for two days of competition, proudly representing the Riverina Associated Schools (RAS) and Moama Anglican Grammar. Twelve students from Moama Anglican Grammar qualified for this round, which is an incredible achievement.

On Monday 5 May, we gathered outside the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre at 4:30 pm before heading inside to begin our warm-up. We competed in four relay events: the 12–14 Girls Medley and Freestyle Relays, and the 12–14 Boys Medley and Freestyle Relays. These events were an excellent opportunity for team bonding. Although we didn’t place in the finals, it was an exciting experience, especially for many of us competing at the Sydney Olympic Pool for the first time.

On Tuesday, we met again at 8:00 am for a full day of individual events. Through the marshalling process and during the competition, we had the chance to meet and connect with students from other regions. While we didn’t bring home any medals, many personal bests were achieved, an exciting sign that all our hard work and training are paying off.

None of this would have been possible without the ongoing support and encouragement from our coaches, Ron and Kelley. A heartfelt thank you also goes to our families and friends for their support and for giving us the opportunity to represent Moama Anglican Grammar at this level."

3-on-3 State Finals Tournament

Our Primary basketball team recently competed in the 3-on-3 State Finals Tournament, showcasing some of the best young basketball talent from across New South Wales.

Reaching the finals was a remarkable achievement in itself. Our students competed against older, taller and more experienced teams—but showed outstanding courage, skill and sportsmanship throughout.

What makes this even more inspiring is that several team members were from Year 4 and Year 5. Despite the challenge, they held their ground and played with heart, determination and resilience.

This experience has laid the foundation for exciting opportunities, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments. Well done, team!

Team Spirit Shines at Interschool Tournament

It was an exciting and successful day for our school at the recent Interschool Tournament. This marked the first time we’ve entered five teams—all boys, all girls and three mixed teams.

Our Boys’ Team, coached by Paige Pinson, showcased incredible teamwork and talent, securing the championship again, back-to-back champions! One of our Mixed Teams, led by parent volunteer Mrs Beau Starritt, also claimed victory and achieved the same impressive back-to-back champion status.

While the Girls’ Team and our two other Mixed Teams didn’t come away with the trophy, they played with heart, skill and great sportsmanship throughout the day.

All students represented Moama Anglican Grammar with pride and integrity. It was a fantastic day of competition, camaraderie and school spirit!

RAS Cross Country

What a fantastic day it was at the RAS Cross Country event! Our students gave their all and showed incredible determination to finish the course. We are thrilled to celebrate their achievements and highlight their outstanding performances.

  • Saide Palmer (Year 3) rounded out the top 5 with a 5th place finish.

Additionally, well done to Cleo Guinan (Year 5) and Cleo Haw (Year 6), who both placed 6th in their respective events!

We are excited to announce that all the above athletes have qualified for the CIS Cross Country Championships in Sydney. We wish them the best of luck as they prepare for this exciting next step.

Well done to all!

Netball NSW Schools Cup- Primary Division

On Monday, 12 May, two of our Grade 5/6 teams represented Moama Anglican Grammar at the Netball NSW Schools Cup in Albury. Girls and mixed teams competed in the Competitive Section of the tournament.

Our Girls' team faced strong competition, playing against Albury Primary School, Trinity, Holbrook Primary School, and St Michael’s Deniliquin. Despite coming up against their toughest opponent in the first match, which ultimately placed them in second overall, the girls continued to improve with each game, winning their remaining matches convincingly. The team that defeated us in the first game has progressed to the next stage of the competition.

Our Mixed Team demonstrated impressive growth and teamwork throughout the day. The boys showed remarkable resilience as they adapted to the game’s rules, while the girls provided calm leadership and connected play across the court. The team secured two wins out of four games, with one match being a particularly close loss.

A big thank you to Ms Pascoe and Gemma Joyce for their guidance and support both before and during the event. Our umpires, Renea Harris and Luella Williams, did an outstanding job, and we’re also grateful to the parents who attended and assisted with scoring.

All students should be proud of their respectful behaviour, persistence and excellent teamwork. They represented themselves, their teams and our school with integrity.
