20th Anniversary Foundation Day Celebration

On Wednesday, 7 May 2025, Moama Anglican Grammar proudly celebrated a significant milestone, our 20th Anniversary Foundation Day. It was a morning filled with gratitude, reflection and joy as our school community came together to honour two decades of learning, growth, and purpose-driven education.

Among our special guests were Ms Deanne Firth, a founding Board member whose family provided crucial financial backing in those early days; Monique Smith, a 2005 foundation student who reflected on her journey and how the school helped shape her path; and Dr Sydney Paul, current Deputy Chair of the Board, who delivered a powerful address on the significance of this moment.

“It is not just a passage of time, but two decades of purpose, passion, and progress,” Dr Paul shared. “Our founders came together not just to create a school, but to build a place where curiosity is encouraged, character is shaped, and every child is valued.”

Principal Scott Downward also reflected on the school’s journey for the past 20 years, acknowledging the many hands and hearts that have contributed over the years from the original portable classrooms to the modern state of the art spaces and facilities we enjoy today.

The day began with a special assembly filled with student-led musical performances and heartfelt stories from our guests. A historical display in the Multi-Purpose Hall highlighted key milestones and showcased the transformation of our school over two decades.

Following the assembly, families, guests and staff shared a light luncheon and then joined the entire students for a spirited afternoon of our Annual Foundation Day Games. From tug of war to “The Gift” running race, our students celebrated with joy, energy and unity — a true reflection of the vibrant school spirit that defines Moama Anglican Grammar.

As we mark this remarkable chapter in our school's story, we are reminded that Moama Anglican Grammar is more than just a place of learning, it is a community built on shared values, shaped by dedication and strengthened by the belief in every child’s potential. We look to the future with confidence, knowing that the foundation laid over the past 20 years will continue to support and inspire generations to come.
