Celebrating 20 Years of Moama Anglican Grammar

Last week our school community came together to celebrate the courage, vision and determination of the many volunteers and founding community members who helped create Moama Anglican Grammar.

We are all fortunate to be a part of a thriving, vibrant, and highly successful school, and a school community full of talented, caring, and passionate staff, students, families, volunteers and alumni.

From my perspective, our annual Foundation Day is one of the most important events across the life of our school each year. It is a day which encourages us to ‘look in the rear-view mirror’, and to reflect upon the foundation or beginning of Moama Anglican Grammar and all that has been achieved in the short history of our school.

As we celebrate our school’s 20th Birthday, and 20 years of educational service delivery to the Echuca/Moama region, it is particularly important that we acknowledge and convey our gratitude for all that has been done and achieved by so many people in our community to grow, nurture and develop our school to where we are today.

The story of our school’s foundation, rapid growth, and significant development over the past 20 years is inspiring. It is an example of the power of community and what can be achieved when people rally together with passion, shared purpose, a growth mindset and an aligned vision for the future.

At our Foundation Day Assembly on Wednesday 7 May, Founding Board Chair, Ms Deanne Firth, and a member of the first Year 7 class in 2005, Ms Monique Smith, shared recollections of our school and their experience during these foundational years.

Their reflections shone a light on how far our school has come in its brief history and serve as a source of inspiration as we work together to position the next stages of our schools’ growth and development. There is so much to celebrate over the past 20 years.

Our collective responsibility as current stewards of our schools ‘unwritten future’ is to build upon the traditions and foundations of our great school, as many others have done before us. Together with our Board, School Executive Team, staff, families and community partners, I am unwaveringly committed to working in partnership to write the next chapters of our school’s history and to position our school strongly for the future.
