Primary School

It was great to welcome many mothers, grandmothers and significant others to our Mother’s Day Celebrations last week. The buzz around the school grounds was just wonderful and we hope that all the visitors enjoyed their breakfast and pampering.

A special thank you to the Senior Drumline, Lila Mislicki and the Year 11/12 Rock Band for their great performances and entertainment. We appreciate all the support from our parent volunteers who braved the cold weather and cooked a tasty breakfast. We would like to acknowledge the generous support from many local businesses who donated raffle prizes to the school. These events would not be possible without the support of our staff, who took on many different roles to ensure the morning ran smoothly. I would like to thank our MAG Parents & Friends volunteers for putting together another great Mother’s Day Stall, stocked with locally sourced gifts.

Chapel Comes to You – Mother’s Day

On Friday 9 May in period 6, the Primary school students participated in a special time of thankfulness and prayer for our mothers. ‘Chapel comes to you’ involved the Year 6 students, in groups of 2 and 3, visiting the students in their individual classrooms and engaging them in an interactive PowerPoint Chapel experience. The Year 6 students are to be commended on the way they led their allocated class through the symbolic actions and the recited prayers. It was wonderful to see our Primary school students thanking God for our mothers ‘Thankyou God for the love of Mothers past and present and still to come!’

Grammar Experiences and Enrolment Interviews

This week, we welcomed potential 2026 Kindergarten students and their families to our Grammar Experience sessions. Whilst the students were engaged in classroom programs, the parents attended an information session followed by a school tour where we were able to showcase our wonderful facilities. Tomorrow, Kindergarten enrolment interviews are being conducted in the Resource Centre. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and Year 6 student leaders who are volunteering their time to support this morning.

Early Stage 1 Assembly

The Kindergarten students have had a great start to Term 2, quickly settling into routines with confidence and enthusiasm. They are looking very smart in their formal winter uniforms.

Morning reading has been a highlight, especially with the help of our wonderful parent and grandparent volunteers. The students have loved sharing books and reading with their special visitors. Thank you for your support!

This week, at the Stage Assembly, three students were celebrated after receiving the Kindergarten Superstar Award for their fantastic efforts and positive attitudes. Well done to Lily Harley, Archie Molluso and Logan Wright.

Stage 1 Assembly

This week, Year 1B and Mr Moon’s class put on a fantastic Stage 1 Assembly where they shared lots of interesting information about the things they have been working on in their Geography lessons.  They have been learning about natural, managed and constructed places, and explored these ideas through the story of the Rainbow Serpent. In Aboriginal culture, the Rainbow Serpent is a powerful symbol of nature and spirit, and the students did a great job sharing what they have learned in a respectful and engaging way. In the end there was a giant Rainbow serpent on the stage!! It was a lovely mix of learning, visual arts and storytelling. Well done, Year 1B!

Congratulations to the students below who received their Stage 1 Super Star Award at the assembly.

Stage 3 Assembly

On Wednesday, Stage 3 held their Stage Assembly, hosted by Cleo Haw and Georgia McIntosh. The students were joined by Year 7 guests, Ruby Law and Charlie Palmer, who shared valuable advice and skills that have contributed to their successful transition into Year 7.

Many students took the opportunity to share insights from a range of activities, competitions and initiatives they participated in over recent weeks. The Assembly concluded with a celebration of student achievements, as selected individuals were awarded a Stage 3 Certificate in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
