Religious Education, Sacramental and Faith Celebration News
On Friday 13th November, we will once again celebrate our school Feast Day. This is an important opportunity to give thanks to God for our school community, as well as the protection of our patroness, Mary - Our Lady of the Southern Cross.
Similar to last year, our formal religious celebration will begin just after 9am with a procession of our image of Our Lady around the school grounds, accompanied by the rosary and singing. Holy Mass will follow the procession. We would like to encourage as many of our families to join us for the procession and Mass as possible.
In the middle session of the day, student leaders will lead the school in an exciting game of trivia. At the end of the day, in the last session, students will participate in the Colour Run.
We hope that the day will be enjoyable for all in our community!

Throughout the start of this term, students across the school have been learning about Mary in their Religious Education lessons. They have explored how Mary is a model discples of Jesus for all of us, including the qualities that she possesses. Students will also learn about the different titles and images of Mary and what they can tell us about who she is, and in turn, who we can be as followers of Christ.
In Week 10 of this term, we will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving to mark the retirement of Tina D'Monte. Tina has been a member of the OLSC staff since the beginning of the school. In addition, she has contributed to Catholic Education for many more years. This Mass will be an opportunity for our school community to thank God, and Tina, for the amazing work she has done over the years and the man lives she has touched through her teaching, deep love for others and for God!
All in our community are invited to this Mass, which will be held on Wednesday 9th December at 12pm in the Knock Centre (OLSC Sports Centre). A shared light lunch/afternoon tea will take place following the Mass.
If you plan on attending and staying for the shared meal, please RSVP to John.

This year, Community Masses will be run all the way through the year on every third Sunday of the month. The dates are below - we invite everyone to join us during 2026 for these Masses, as we continue to build up this faith community.

We encourage you to spread the word of our Community Masses and invite as many family, friends, neighbours and others to these celebrations.
