Term 4, Week 2 - Friday 16th October, 2026
Dear Families of OLSC,
Thank you all for a very smooth start to Term 4. It seems each Term is very busy but this is particularly so.
Tina D'Monte joined the staff of OLSC as a founding member of the staff team. She was

appointed in 2008 to begin on day one of the school's operation in 2009. Tina has held many roles in her time at OLSC and she and her husband Red built their house and have made Manor Lakes their home. Tina has decided it's time to retire at the end of this year and although she will be missed by us all, I am sure she remain a very active member of St Andrew's Parish and the Wyndham Vale Catholic Community.
Join us in week 10 to formally celebrate Tina by a mass of Thanksgiving. This Mass will be an opportunity for our school community to thank God, and Tina, for the amazing work she has done over the years and the many lives she has touched through her teaching, deep love for others and for God!
All in our community are invited to this Mass, which will be held on Wednesday 9th December at 12pm in the Knock Centre (OLSC Sports Centre). A shared light lunch/afternoon tea will take place following the Mass.
If you plan on attending and staying for the shared meal, please RSVP to John (jdini@olscwyn.catholic.edu.au)
This weekend we have our Community Mass at 10:00am on Sunday. All families are invited to

come along to this community event - Sunday October 16th.
On behalf of Father Albert and the parish of St Andrew's I am sharing with you all an invitation for our 120th Anniversary Mass as a parish on 29th November 2026.

For the safety of all students and families, we kindly remind parents and carers to remain in their vehicles when using the school drop-off zone. Please do not get out of your car in the drop-off zone, as this can create safety risks and traffic congestion. Children should be ready to exit the vehicle safely and promptly from the passenger side, allowing traffic to continue flowing smoothly. If you need to assist your child or get out of your vehicle, please park in a designated parking space. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe.

Over the break, Khloe Siu represented Victoria at the National Championship Competition in Canberra for Taekwondo. Not only did she represent Victoria, but she won Gold. Well done. Khloe, on your wonderful achievement!

Sienna recently participated in her first running event and achieved an outstanding result! In a little mix-up, she accidentally joined the 5 km event, thinking it was the 3 km race.
At just 8 years old, Sienna rose to the challenge and completed the full 5 km in an incredible 22 minutes and 37 seconds! Great job, Sienna from all of us here at OLSC!

Isaac graduated last Monday and he is the youngest/quickest so far.
He had to swim 1000k nonstop and show all four strokes, survival techniques and endurance to graduate and he did it in 39 minutes.
The photos show his certificate and medal and his last lap when the rest of the swimmers were splashing him as he finished.

If anyone in your family has an achievement that could be shared in the newsletter and is worthy of celebration and acknowledgement, please email Justin to be included in the next newsletter.
