VCE-VM Cohort Celebrates Successful Opening of the Highvale Healthy Habitat
On Thursday 16th October, under perfect spring weather, our VCE Vocational Major (VM) students proudly hosted the official opening of the Highvale Healthy Habitat. The event marked the culmination of months of planning, teamwork, and dedication, as students transformed their ideas into a meaningful outdoor space for the whole school community to enjoy.
The opening ceremony was a great success, with an impressive turnout from students, staff, and community members. Guests were able to explore the space, learn about the sustainable design choices made by the students, and see firsthand the positive impact of their efforts.
Once opened, the Healthy Habitat quickly became a hub of activity. Students across year levels engaged enthusiastically with the space — relaxing, socialising, and connecting with the environment in the way the VCE-VM group had envisioned from the start.
Looking ahead, the Healthy Habitat will become a bookable outdoor learning space for classes from 2026, allowing teachers to integrate hands-on, nature-based learning into their programs.
Congratulations to our VCE-VM cohort for their outstanding achievement and the leadership they demonstrated throughout this project. The Healthy Habitat is a lasting legacy of their commitment to hands-on learning, teamwork, and community spirit.
