MND ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

Friday, 19th September was an incredibly exciting day for the Highvale community. It was not only the last day of term 3, but also the day of the mighty ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It was incredibly cool to watch students take a shot at goal and dunk buckets of ice and water on different teachers’ heads in the courtyard!

The money that we collected from the Ice Bucket Challenge is being donated to the MND (Motor Neuron Disease) Australia Foundation to help develop a cure for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis).  Last year, we raised $788.20 towards MND, while this year Highvale managed to raise a whopping $1000 towards MND/ALS Australia! Great work Highvale!!

It was wonderful to see so many blue students participating in this event and supporting our fundraising efforts for this important cause. A massive splash of thanks to all the teachers who bravely faced the icy water. It truly was a “Fun Event with a Purpose.”

A special thanks to the SRC team, SRC captains Mia and Vaishnavi and the entire Year 12 Leadership team who made this event happen! We couldn’t have done it without all of you! Overall, the Ice Bucket Challenge was a huge success, and we look forward to organising and participating in similar events in the future at Highvale Secondary College!
