Many of our main sports events for 2025 have now concluded, however in October we had a number of representative teams and competitors compete in Region and State level competitions all across Melbourne.
Intermediate boys competed at the Region hockey event on Tuesday 7th of October, with one win, one draw and one loss. They also had a representative team at Region Cricket on Thursday 16th of October, at Hislop Park Balwyn. Unfortunately, this team came up against the sports academy school Rowville SC, who made light work of chasing down our first innings score. Players from both of these teams represented the school with excellence and distinction and should be congratulated on making it to the Region stage!
On Monday 13th of October, 16 students across multiple year levels represented the college at Region athletics, held at the newly refurbished Knox athletics track. All of our athletes competed mightily, and we had some fantastic results including 7 podium finishes. Congratulations to Aiden B, Melissa B, Max C, Ivy K, Alex L, Ben M, James N, Jaslene O, Syrus O, Jazel O, Phoenix P, Piros P, Isla S, Sayeshke W and Peyton W on your achievements! A very special mention goes to Syrus, Jaslene and Aiden who made it through to the state competitions across a number of events!
On Monday 20th October, Jaslene, Syrus and Aiden travelled to Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park for the School Sports Victoria State Track and Field Championships. Syrus set a personal best in Discus (35.92 metres) to finish 4th. Despite some difficult conditions he also finished 4th in the 110m hurdles event. Jaslene placed 6th and 5th respectively in the long jump and triple jump, finishing her sporting achievements as a Highvale student. Congratulations on all your achievements over 6 years Jaslene! Aiden placed 8th in the 1500m event. Another fantastic performance. Congratulations to all of our state athletes in 2025!
