Mr Thornton, Ms Sculley and 2025 School Captains
Term 3 has been full of challenges and achievements, with SACs keeping us busy and focused, but also reminding us how our hard work is starting to pay off as we near the end of Year 12.
It was an incredible honour for the four of us to meet the Premier of Victoria and have the opportunity to guide her on a tour of our college. We were excited to showcase our vibrant school community, highlighting our high student population, state-of-the-art facilities, and the unique programs that make our college special.
Walking her through our classrooms, sports areas, and common spaces, we felt proud to represent our peers and share the spirit of our school first-hand. The experience was both inspiring and unforgettable, giving us a chance to show just what makes our college such a remarkable place to learn and grow.
Another highlight has been the senior futsal competition, which showed the strength of our teamwork and school spirit, while the recent student-free day gave us all a much-needed refresher. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and excited for what’s still to come — especially with the announcement of our House Captains just around the corner, bringing a surprise we can all look forward to.
Current SRC members are at the pointy end of a multi-year process in which they have attended multiple workshops and meetings, with the aim of identifying targeted and actionable ways in which the school experience can be improved for all students.
This will involve presenting their ideas to a group of staff. SRC members ran similar workshops last year, which were a real hit with all who attended, and we are looking forward to these students once again sharing their insights.
The selection process for the 2026 School Captains and Vice-Captains will commence shortly. As a school, we are fortunate to have a long history of Captains and Vice-Captains who have enriched our community, and we are sure that 2026 will be no exception in this regard.
All Year 11 students will be welcome to apply. More broadly, all students who are interested in developing their leadership skills and/or contributing to our school are also encouraged to apply for other positions which will be advertised in the future.
