Successful Volleyball Clinic Brings Community Together at Cobblebank Stadium

Cobblebank Stadium came alive with energy and excitement recently as Melton City Council's Young Communities team, in partnership with local schools, hosted a highly successful "volleyball clinic" for young people across the Melton region.

The event attracted a fantastic turnout of students from schools throughout Melton, all eager to learn new skills and experience volleyball at a high level. Making the evening even more special was the presence of one of Australia's most accomplished volleyball players, Lorenzo Pope, a member of the Australian Men's Volleyball Team (the Volleyroos) who is currently playing professional club volleyball in Poland.

Lorenzo generously shared his knowledge, skills, and experiences with participants, providing valuable coaching and inspiration to the next generation of volleyball players. Students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from one of Australia's best athletes and were highly engaged throughout the clinic.

The evening was filled with fun, skill development, teamwork, and plenty of enthusiasm as participants took part in a range of volleyball activities and drills. The positive atmosphere highlighted the strong community spirit that exists within Melton and demonstrated the impact that quality sporting opportunities can have on young people.

To top off an amazing event, the Melton City Council Young Communities team provided food for all participants at the conclusion of the clinic, which was greatly appreciated by everyone involved.

A sincere thank you goes to the Melton City Council Young Communities team for sponsoring and supporting this wonderful initiative. We would also like to thank Lorenzo Pope for sharing his time and expertise, and to all the students who attended and supported the event. Your enthusiasm and participation helped make the evening a tremendous success.

We look forward to seeing more opportunities like this continue to inspire and engage young people through sport in our community.
