IDAHOBIT Day

On Monday 18th of May, we celebrated IDAHOBIT Day.
IDAHOBIT stands for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia. It is a day that reminds us of the importance of respect, inclusion and making sure every person feels safe and valued for who they are.
At our school, we believe everyone deserves to feel accepted and supported. Research shows that 86% of young people feel safer simply by seeing a rainbow symbol displayed. Something that may seem small to one person can make a huge difference to someone else’s sense of belonging.
No matter our personal beliefs, we all have a responsibility to treat others with kindness, respect and inclusion through our words and actions every day. Creating a safe and welcoming community is something we can all contribute to.
We hosted activities to celebrate the diversity of students and staff in our Kurunjang Secondary College community.
