Holiday Reading

Looking for something to do these school holidays or need to borrow some books? Why not take a visit to Melton Library - open during the school holidays offering a number fantastic services including an extensive collection of books, library programs and events, computer and wi-fi and many more things to keep you entertained for the break.

Don't forget our school library website (Library Search) is available - students can access this resource to view current loans, reserve books, select books for reading at the start of next term, and watch videos on the TV4Ed platform. 

Library and Information Week 2026

Each year Library and Information Week celebrates a different theme. The theme for this year is Shining a Light on Misinformation and Disinformation.

In the library we are highlighting this importance of understanding what misinformation and disinformation is and how we can identify this type of information. Students can enter our quiz at the library - which features questions relating to the topic. The quiz will be open from the start of term until Friday 31st July.

Every day we see lots of information online - on social media, websites, videos, games, and messages from friends. But not everything we see or hear is true. 

Misinformation is false or incorrect information that someone shares by mistake. For example, a person might repost something they think is true, but it turns out to be wrong.

Disinformation is false information shared on purpose to trick, confuse, or influence people.

Learning how to spot misinformation and disinformation is an important skill. It helps us make good decisions, stay safe online, and avoid spreading things that are not true.
