Norwood’s production of Sister Act is puttin’ the sis back in Genesis!
After a massive term slaving over six-part harmonies, complex choreography, costume fittings, set construction, blocking, and world-building, the 2026 Musical Production is ready for a short break prior to applying the finishing touches in Term 3.
We are extremely proud of our brilliant ensemble who are tackling the acrobatic vocal score and multilayered blocking with patience and rigor, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the maturity and growth in our leads and supporting roles.
Norwood’s murmur of 16 nuns is more like a roar, taking on vocal parts akin to Olympic-level gymnastics! Special mention here goes to a few phenomenal Sisters: the adorable Audrey (Sister Mary Patrick), the ethereal Aoife (Postulant Mary Robert) and the judicious Jupiter (Sister Mary Lazarus). While the exquisite Lexi (Mother Superior) attempts to maintain an ‘attitude of prayer’ by subduing the nuns’ exuberance, the hilarious Hayley (choreographer and Monsignor O’Hara) wholeheartedly encourages the ‘supernatural high’ of the feverish cloister.
Outside the Convent exists a much more dangerous world, imperiously overseen by Isaac (Curtis) and his gang of stooges – Charlotte, Lachie and Ryan (TJ, Pablo and Joey) – whose comic timing will have you in stitches.
Peter is perfection as Police Constable Eddie Souther, the ‘king of uncool’. Sweaty Eddie strives to lead the pack when the action goes down’, but most of us only catch a glimpse of ‘that guy’ when he’s flanked by his smokin’ hot fantasy dancers (Sanne, Leah, Hannah, Grace, Eva, Pippa and Annabelle).
Marlea is brilliant as Deloris Van Cartier! She skilfully upholds both character and story needs as Deloris transforms from a selfish and superficial, fame-obsessed nightclub singer into a soul-inspiring Sister and valued friend of the convent.
Tickets to this sanctifunkadelic delight will go on sale early next term – stay tuned so you don’t miss out!
