Acknowledgement of Country

The Student Representative Council (SRC) has worked very hard over an extended period to develop a new Acknowledgement of Country that is based on our school’s values and the beliefs of our community.

This new acknowledgement has been shaped by a wide range of voices, perspectives, and ideas, all of which have contributed to what it is today. We hope it builds on the original by being more inclusive of all members of our community, as well as those who visit our school.

We are incredibly proud of what we have created and of the time, effort and collaboration that went into developing this new Acknowledgement of Country:

We acknowledge that Norwood Secondary College stands on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nations.

This land has long been a place of gathering, storytelling, and community. Each day, as we come together to learn, challenge ourselves and grow, we are guided by our values of respect, responsibility, aspiration, and resilience.

These values remind us to care for the land and to continue learning about our First Nations Peoples and their culture.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
