Primary Soccer

The JSSATIS Soccer roster concluded on Thursday last week.  Well done to everyone that gave it their all at soccer, and especially to those that were giving it a go for the first time.  I hope the students had lots of fun and families enjoyed watching them.  

Thanks to the secondary students that helped out with coaching and umpiring over the season, including Eliza Fleming, Charlie Seeber-Peattie, Carla Mione, Grace Claxton, Luz Jensen, Bethany Paton-Lyon and Christelle Ghanam and to Mr Brown who looked after all the students at lunchtime trainings.  

Thanks also to the parents that gave up their time to Coach, Manage and Umpire, Jenna Magnus, Matthew McKay, Craig Stockdale and Wayne and Angela Quinn.

Primary Tennis

The JSSATIS Year 5/6 Tennis roster has now drawn to a close.  Well done to the participants in the team which included May Nguyen, Cora Alomes (Year 5) and Eloise Vanier, Josephine Wilkinson (Year 6).  The team showed noticeable improvements in serving and game awareness as the roster progressed.  Special thanks to Lisa Wilkinson for supervising and organising the players into games. 

Secondary Soccer

The Soccer roster has drawn to a close, with some disappointment for narrowly missing out on a spot in the Year 9/10 Grand Final.   

The season was a bit disruptive for both the Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 teams with weather cancellations, forfeits and byes.  The Year 9/10 team matched it with the best in the few games they played, but were unlucky with the way the draw fell and finished the roster with the second most points, but after match ratio was taken into account, finished in third position.   

Well done to all players for their determination, team work and sportsmanship.  Special thanks to Pina Angelone, Madi Peattie, Julia Griffiths and Sarah Hastings for giving up their time to support students to participate.  

Term 2 Sports

I am currently in the process of finalising teams and information to go out for Term 2 sports. There are still a few teams that could do with some extra players, so please contact me if you have missed the deadline but would like to see if there is space available to join a team: sport@mountcarmel.tas.edu.au.
