da Vinci Decathalon

The da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of school students. Students compete in teams of eight across 10 disciplines: engineering, mathematics, code breaking, art and poetry, science, English, ideation, creative producers, cartography and legacy. It is designed to celebrate the academic gifts of Australian youth by providing a stimulating and challenging competition run in the spirit of an Olympic Decathlon.

The Year 6 da Vinci Decathlon team consisting of Alyssa Davis, Amelia Glancy, Doris Jiang, Maisie Moriarty, Vivienne Pedersen, Shanaya Prajit, Rosalea Taylor and Anna Thickett represented MCC in the Decathlon at Hutchins School on Monday.  The girls worked together very well as a team, winning the Legacy section for Year 6.  The Legacy section focuses mostly on general knowledge. Apparently it was an incredibly difficult test paper, so winning is an amazing achievement.

A team of talented Year 10 students represented the secondary school at the da Vinci Decathlon, competing across a range of challenging and creative disciplines. Well done to:  Indiana Clayton, Ruby Fishwick, Holly Hubbert, Olivia Ims, Evie Ling,  Eliza Madden, Brooklyn Taylor and Emelia Westwood. We are incredibly proud of your efforts and the way you represented the school throughout the day.
