Throughout this year, 6F has been determined to always keep learning new things and help everyone to understand the learning! We try to keep a positive and healthy classroom behaviour.

Term 3 Maths has been filled with intriguing units like probability, equations and exponents in our class. In probability we learnt about the chance of things happening and different probability phrases (e.g. impossible, unlikely, evenly likely, certain etc.) for different experiments. After we had understood the concept of probability, we moved onto exponents where we learnt about square and cube values and specific notations. So far, we have been working on equations and figuring out how to find the value of  pronumerals. This year maths has been very interesting and fun for our class and we wish to learn more!

In English, we learnt different things such as how to write a factual recount, in literature, and meanings of words in literacy. We learn a lot in both areas. In literature term 2/3 we learnt to write factual recounts about the life before, events leading up to and life after the 1967 referendum.  A factual recount is a recount or informative text based on a chosen topic, in our experience we wrote about the 1967 referendum. We wrote about how it affected the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across three different times, before, events leading up to and after the 1967 referendum.

In Literacy, we are learning new words from our book; what they mean and their part of speech. We also learn grammar in some lessons that teaches us how to use certain punctuation marks and different sentence types, how to make them more descriptive or interesting with different figurative language.

In Inquiry term two we learnt about how sustainable products are very effective to the environment. The whole Grade 6 cohort had to choose a product to refine and make it more environmentally friendly. It was like we were business owners and we had to make a product to sell! After this we made a poster or slides about our project and were allowed to add our own promotional material and ideas (e.g. fliers, brochures, visual presentations etc). We really enjoyed this and got to present the final result to the other grade 6 classes. We had heaps of fun doing it and learning new interesting things about our environment and how to protect it.
