Year 7 Girls Netball
Sport
On Wednesday 28 May, a very enthusiastic bus of four Year 7 Girls Netball Teams headed off to Knox Regional Netball Centre to compete against the local schools in our area.
The weather and the rain were unkind for a majority of the day however our Year 7s remained enthusiastic and unbothered; everyone eager to participate despite the cold.
Each of our four teams had their own successes throughout the day, including our A team who came 2nd, despite our best efforts against Rowville Secondary in the final. To win and have these achievements is always nice however the friendship and sportsmanship our Wantirna Girls showed towards one another and their oppositions is what made me most proud of them all.
Netball in the 3s was a great experience and event. We are extremely happy with the wins we had and even when we lost, we knew what we could have done better on the next. Our coach, Ana was kind and just as competitive as us. ~ Lola Halemoore, Year 7
I was in B team and had the absolute time of my life. Together we bonded as a team even though some of us barely knew each other or even how to play netball in the beginning. Despite this, by the end of the day we were playing like pros. For my team, we won four games and lost two. We made plenty of memories and made so many new friends as well! Thank you to Abby for coaching us, we loved all your tips, tricks and laughs.
~ Keerthana Kishore, Year 7
Overall, the day was a huge success that could not have been achieved without the support and coaching from Abbey and Ana, and Ms McLennan alongside Bianca who facilitated the competition – thank you!
