Kitchen

Wow – what a great start to 2026 in the kitchen!
The kitchen has been full of excitement and delicious smells already.
Grade 2 students have been busy making pizzas and choc chip muffins.
Grade 4s have rolled up their sleeves to make sausage rolls, corn fritters and spring rolls. Grade 5s created colourful burrito bowls and our Grade 6s mastered spaghetti bolognese.
Our Grade 6 Extended Cooking program is running a little differently this year — students cook, beautifully set the table and then invite a teacher or staff member to join them for lunch. It has created such a wonderful buzz around the school and has been running amazingly well!
Kids in the Kitchen is also up and running, with Grades 3, 4 and 5 joining in weekly. So far they’ve made muffins, pizzas, spring rolls and sausage rolls. Every grade is learning fantastic techniques at each stage — from chopping and grating to rolling, mixing and teamwork.
Our kitchen garden has just been freshly planted and it’s already looking amazing! 🌱
We now have lots of beautiful herbs growing, along with spring onions, leeks, broccoli, wombok cabbage and silverbeet. The garden beds are looking so fresh and green. We can’t wait to start harvesting and using our home-grown produce in the kitchen.
What a brilliant start — I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
