ELLIE ZALCMAN AWARDED CHAMPIONSHIPS ACROSS MULTIPLE EVENTS

Ellie Zalcman of Year 9 competed in the Victorian Weightlifting Championships and the National Weightlifting Championships in Hobart Tasmania over the past two weekends. 

Ellie won gold in the youth under 17, under 49 kg category at the Victorian Championships.

At Nationals, she won gold in the under 15, under 49 kg category and silver in the under 17, under 49 kg category. 

Her under 15 total placed her 3rd overall including every weight class on the Sinclair formula. This makes Ellie the Australian National Under 15 Champion. 

Ellie hit PB's at this competition with a 51 kg snatch and 66 kg clean and jerk, just missing out on the Australian record. However, her clean and jerk and total are new Victorian records. This made her total, 117 kg, qualifying her at the youth international standard. 

Back in March, Ellie also competed at the Victorian Gymnastics Championships, winning the level 10 title.

Overall, this year Ellie became a National Champion in weightlifting and a Victorian champion in weightlifting and gymnastics.  

Congratulations Ellie. This is an outstanding achievement to be very proud of.
