Mazenod Creates History with SSWA Shield Three-Peat!

Mazenod College has etched its name into SSWA Shield history, securing a hard-fought victory in the grand final against Lake Joondalup Baptist to claim an unprecedented third consecutive title.

The contest was worthy of a final, with both teams locked in a tight battle throughout the match. After a scoreless first half, Mazenod striker Ivan R broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal early in the second half. Lake Joondalup responded almost immediately, equalising to level the game at 1–1, where it remained at the final whistle.

With the game heading into extra time, both sides defended bravely, knowing one moment could decide the outcome. That moment came just two minutes from time, when team captain Zach H found the back of the net with a decisive strike, sending the Mazenod players and supporters into celebration.

The 2–1 win not only sealed the championship but also delivered Mazenod College its first ever three-peat in SSWA Shield history — a remarkable achievement and testament to the dedication, teamwork and spirit of the squad.

Congratulations to the players, coaches and supporters on this historic triumph!
