Learning to Succeed – Year 12 English ‘Born a Crime’ Workshop

Learning to Succeed is a tutoring program that focuses on tutoring VCE students in English. As part of their promotional material they offer workshops to VCE students based on texts that students are studying.

Thursday 7th May saw our Year 12's engaged in a workshop focused on writing effective analysis of the memoir ‘Born a Crime’ by Trevor Noah. Our Year 12 students are about to sit their SAC for this text, so this was a timely reminder of the themes and different ways to write essays.

Our Year 12's wrote copious notes and gave excellent feedback to the presenters, with students claiming it was ‘super helpful’ and the ‘sample of quality responses’ was excellent. Many liked the alternative way of structuring their essays and found the workshop informative.

Students will now be able to apply their learning in future English classes.
