Wellbeing Sub Committee

Pizza Tuesdays — A Tasty Win

  •  Student Voice Council, Wellbeing Committee, launched Pizza Tuesdays last term to boost lunchtime engagement and provide a consistent social space for students. Attendance grew each week, with the SVC team coordinating orders, set-up, and clean-up. Feedback collected showed high satisfaction: students reported the events helped them connect with classmates and felt the food options were inclusive of common dietary needs

HOUSE REFORM COMMITTEE

Members of the House Reform Sub Committee of the Student Voice Council, led by school captain: Zoe Wheelan, have been very active this term. Meeting fortnightly with Assistant Principal, Mr Caruana, the committee has been making exciting progress towards an overhaul of our current house system which is expected to be fully implemented in 2027.

Watch this space - exciting times!

Teaching and Learning Committee

Led by School Captain, Jack Brennan, this Sub Committee of the Student Voice Council has also been exceedingly active in recent weeks.

The committee initially visited every classroom in the school, encouraging students to take the time to provide meaningful feedback to the leadership team by way of the Pre-Attitudes to School Survey. This is a survey designed to give schools valuable student feedback regarding school climate.

Determined to capitalise on the students' feedback, the Teaching and Learning Committee, together with the Assistant Principal, facilitated student focus groups at different year levels, thereby enlisting a cross section of students to assist us in unpacking this important data.

A whole school action plan is being developed to best capture and take advantage of this feedback. It is wonderful to see our students taking such an active interest in both their learning and their wellbeing.

Next Events — Stay Tuned

Student Voice Council is already planning upcoming events and activities.

How Students Can Get Involved

  • Attend the next Student Voice Council meeting.
  • Volunteer for event roles: setup, games management, food service, or promotion.
  • Share feedback on events and activities and ways we can improve our school.
  • Propose event ideas or partner groups via email to the student voice council leaders.
