Dear Warrandyte High School Community
I hope our community enjoyed a restful and refreshing Term 1 break. It was nice to welcome students back for Term 2. Now at the mid point of the term, a strong sense of positivity and willingness to learn has been clearly evident across the school. Classrooms have an environment of purposeful learning, setting a great tone for the upcoming Year 9-12 exam period and the remainder of the term. This has been enhanced by the addition of our new interactive classroom projectors.

A highlight from earlier this term was our Athletics Carnival. It was fantastic to see such high levels of participation, house spirit and encouragement throughout the day. Congratulations to Anderson who were crowned our 2026 Athletics House champions. Events like these play an important role in building connection and school pride, and I would like to thank our staff for their organisation, and our students for the enthusiastic and respectful way they represented their Houses.
Our senior students have also recently had the opportunity to attend the Careers Expo, with students in Years 10 and 12 exploring a wide range of future pathways. This was a valuable experience, allowing students to engage with universities, training providers and industry representatives, helping them make informed decisions about their next steps beyond school.
Furthermore, our Year 12 VCE and VM students have been involved in student progress meetings. Students met with a member of leadership to discuss their 2026 progress. They provide a valuable opportunity to closely monitor student progress, offer additional supports where needed, and ensure each student is on track as they work towards their desired pathway destination. Thank you to everyone involved.
School values logo - thank you to all members of our school community who participated in the selection process for our new school values logo. It was wonderful to see such strong engagement and support for this important piece of work. We are delighted with the new designs.

Our Shelter in Place works are now nearing completion, which is a significant milestone for the school. Most of the project has been finalised, with only the installation of safety shutters to door areas remaining. These works importantly ensure the safety and preparedness of our school, and we look forward to their full completion in the very near future.
Preparations are also well underway for our upcoming school production, Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. There is a real sense of excitement building as students and staff work tirelessly behind the scenes. Our four shows will run from Friday June 19 to Sunday June 21, and I strongly encourage all members of our community to come along, book tickets and support what promises to be another fantastic showcase of student talent.
A brief update on the Suspension of industrial action and student reports. We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.
The reports will be distributed on Friday 26 June. The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments may not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.
We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-student-teacher conferences scheduled for Term 3, or, as always, you can contact the school to arrange a meeting with your child’s teacher.
As always, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for the positive way you contribute to our school community. I look forward to another productive and engaging term ahead.
Warm regards
