Hello everyone, my name is Amaya and I am going to share what is happening in GWPS.
Firstly, I would like to talk about the Precious Plastics incursion that the grade 6 cohort participated in, they learnt about the types of plastic recyclables and how we can make new things with old plastics. The grade 6 cohort also made new pens, yo- yos, Jenga blocks, pots and other cool items.
Next, the whole school participated in the Friendology incursion where we all learnt about how to keep your friend relationships healthy. We also learnt about friendship fires (arguments) and how to manage them appropriately.
Thirdly, the year 1s are learning about the life cycle of animals by learning how to take care of them and what habitats they live in. The grade 1s really enjoy doing this learning.
The grade 3 cohort is going on an exciting excursion to the zoo on Monday! This excursion will take place on the 1st of June. This excursion will teach the grade 3s about which habitats animals thrive in.
On the 16th of June, the grade 2s will be taking part in an excursion to the Port Phillip Eco Centre. The grade 2s will be learning many things through fun and lots of great experiences.
Finally, the grade 5s will be going to the Moonlit Sanctuary soon. They will also be learning about some of Australia’s greatest animals and other animals like the grade 3s and 1s. Lastly, I would just like to remind everyone to keep on making sensible choices at school around the environment, classrooms and bathrooms and remember to have fun too.
