On Wednesday 3rd June and Thursday 4th June, Brainstorm Productions will be presenting their student wellbeing performance ‘The Protectors’ who all year levels across the two days.
The performance will take place at school in the Gymnasium on the following days:
Wednesday 3rd June:
Thursday 4th June:
There is no charge to families for this incursion.
The performance follows the story of Leo and Serena, who are struggling to get along with their peers. When Leo and Serena enter ‘Protector School’ they discover that empathy, assertiveness and respect are their real superpowers. They learn how to build resilience and positive connections at school, at home and online.
‘The Protectors’ is a live theatre experience, developed by educators and a clinical psychologist. The performance is aligned with key outcomes from the curriculum, as well as current research and recommendations from expert organisations such as the eSafety Commissioner. The show is designed to spark conversations about bullying, cyber safety and wellbeing among our students.
Brainstorm Productions is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected theatre in education companies, performing to over 260,000 students every year. Brainstorm Productions are endorsed by the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider and listed as an evidence-based bullying prevention program on the Victorian Schools Mental Health Menu. Learn more about Brainstorm Productions by visiting their website (brainstormproductions.edu.au), or following them on Instagram (@brainstormproductions_), Facebook (@Brainstorm.Productions) or LinkedIn (linkedin.com/company/brainstormproductions).
The themes covered in ‘The Protectors’ performance closely aligns with our Whole School Approach to Wellbeing and reinforces the classroom learning through The Resilience Project building on the key principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness, Emotional Literacy, and Connections, helping our students build leadership, resilience and strong, positive peer relationships. Furthermore, the messaging strengthens our focus on online safety, digital wellbeing, antibullying and being an ‘Upstander’ through the learning in Cyber Safety Project and The Stand-Up Project.
