Year 4 Miniboss Incursion

As part of the year 4 Inquiry learning ‘How Chemicals Impact Life on Earth’, the Year 4 students participated in The Lab, an engaging hands-on chemistry incursion. Throughout the day, students worked collaboratively in teams to investigate a range of scientific concepts, including states of matter, acidic and alkaline substances, reaction rates and solubility. Through a variety of experiments, students explored how chemicals interact in everyday life, from the food we eat to the products we use. They applied their scientific understanding and creative thinking to design and create their own bath bomb fizz, experimenting with colours, scents and packaging. The incursion encouraged students to develop important skills in teamwork, problem solving, curiosity and critical thinking, while deepening their understanding of the role chemicals play in our world.
