Welcome to Term 2, Week 6!

It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through Term 2 — the term is certainly flying by!

Welcome to Admin Corner. This term, our team has been busy supporting GWPS families by following up on important compliance requirements and updating student information to ensure our records remain accurate and up to date.

Below are a few important reminders and updates:

1. Student Information Updates

   Student information forms were emailed to all families to confirm that enrolment details, emergency contacts, and other important information are still current.

    

2. Student Visas

   We have been contacting families to request updated copies of their child’s visa if it has expired or is nearing its expiry date.

    

3. Immunisation Records

   Reminder emails have also been sent to families requesting a copy of their child’s immunisation record. To date, we have received approximately 16% of the required documents back, 9.6% copies were issued by overseas authority, and we are currently waiting 75% of parents to respond.

    

   We appreciate the efforts of families who have already submitted records. Please note that immunisation records issued overseas cannot be accepted by the school. Families are kindly asked to take overseas immunisation documents to their local council or GP clinic, where they can be assessed and forwarded to the Victorian Immunisation Department for official processing. Once processed, families will receive a formal immunisation statement that meets Victorian Government school requirements.

    

4. Photography Consent Forms

   Beginning in Week 7, we will also be following up on photography consent forms. Please keep an eye out for the yellow consent forms that will be distributed shortly.

This term, I also had the opportunity to attend several professional learning sessions focused on school finance. It was a valuable and rewarding experience. Not only did I gain new knowledge from the presenters, but it was also wonderful connecting with staff from different schools and learning from their diverse experiences and perspectives.
