Acting Principal's Report

Dear Families,
A Wonderful Start at LESC
I want to begin by expressing gratitude to the Lakes Entrance Secondary College community for the warm welcome that I have received. Beginning part-way through any term presents its challenges, but I have felt incredibly welcomed by students, staff and families.
I have been spending as much time as possible getting to know staff, students and families and listening to the key issues that matter. These conversations have been invaluable, and I look forward to continuing to build upon those connections as the term progresses.
School Improvement
We are working closely with the Department of Education and our School Improvement Team this term on a number of important areas of school improvement. This work spans learning outcomes, student wellbeing and leadership, and reflects a genuine commitment to making Lakes Entrance Secondary College the best it can possibly be.
These are long-term pieces of work that will take time to fully develop and embed – but every step forward matters, and we are beginning to lay strong foundations.
Building School Pride & Confidence
I am pleased to share that I recently completed a professional learning course through the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership ‘Inspiring School Pride & Confidence’. This professional learning opportunity has been incredibly insightful and has given us a wonderful platform to drive some exciting school improvement moving forward.
As part of this work, we will be looking at how we best communicate with our community, how we celebrate and share the great things happening at LESC, and how we continue to build a strong sense of pride and belonging for our students, staff and families. We believe that when a school community feels proud of who they are and what they stand for, great things will follow!
