Nash - U14 Victorian State Hockey Team

Nash R has played hockey since he was 6 years old and through his hard work and determination has been selected at district level and shield level which he currently plays in Melbourne. Shield is the highest junior level before state. Nash has also qualified to play in the Country Championships three times and State Championships four times throughout his career so far.

In August Nash tried out for the U14 Victorian State team, where he was up against approximately 170 others. Nash attended three trials and the numbers were cut after each round. Nash made it through each greulling round and was selected for the State team.

Nash now has 11 training sessions in Melbourne where they prepare for the National Championships which is being held in Perth in October, in the school holidays.

Nash will travel to Perth with his team where they will play 11 matches over the week against the other states.

We wish him all the best and can't wait to hear all about this awesome experience!

Benji - National Cross Country

Congratulations to Benji C who competed in the 2024 Australian Cross Country Championships in Tasmania last week and finished 8th in Australia for his age group!

In typical Tasmanian style, the conditions were freezing, wet, muddy and windy but this was all made slightly easier for Benji with an amazing SJC support crew there to cheer him on.

Congratulations Benji on this incredible achievement!

2024 Victorian All Schools Track Relay Championships

Congratulations to Nate S, Lynkoln R, Jackson B and Jagger W who competed in the Victorian All Schools 4 x 100m relay at the Victorian All Schools Track Relay Championships this week.

In their first event together and competing as bottom agers in an U16 competition the boys ran extremely well to finish 4th in their heat and 19th overall with a time of 49.38.

Well done boys!
