Year 9 Personal Best
Woodwork in the Real World
As part of their religious education, our Year 9 Personal Best Woodwork class 'chipped' away during Semester 1 to research, plan and construct three wooden picnic tables.
A core component of our Living Justice Living Peace (LJLP) charter is using our gifts and talents to make something meaningful for the community and at the end of the semester the boys chose to donate their tables to Echuca Regional Health (ERH).
These tables were recently delivered to ERH and last week three of the students, accompanied by their teachers Mr Westblade and Mr Mulluso, had the pleasure of meeting with staff from ERH to find out how the tables were being used.
The staff at ERH were thrilled with the end result and congratulated the boys on their excellent workmanship. They said the tables had already been put to good use by patients and staff as a place to sit and relax or have a bite to eat, in the area next to the cafe and in the wellbeing space.
The students said they really enjoyed working on the project and were grateful for the opportunity to see how their hard work was being appreciated in the community.
