House Athletics Recap: A Perfect Day!
On Monday 26 August, we hosted our annual whole school athletics and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. With clear skies and a gentle breeze, the atmosphere was set for an unforgettable day.
Students from all year levels participated with enthusiasm, but it was the senior students who truly shone. Their dedication and sportsmanship were on full display, setting an excellent example for the younger students. From the individual events to the team relays, every event was filled with excitement as students gave their best to represent their House.
Overall, this year’s athletics day was a resounding success. It was wonderful to see the students push their limits, support each other, and celebrate their hard-earned victories.
We'd like to thank all the students for their positive participation and to all the staff for their hard work in making the day possible.
We will announce age champions and our winning House at our next whole school assembly.
In the meantime we would like to acknowledge three students who broke records in the following events:
- Mila P broke the 13yrs girls 1500m record in a time of 5 minutes and 12 seconds.
- Josie O broke the 14 yrs girls long jump record with a jump of 4 metres and 71cms.
- Mitch S broke the 15yrs boys 1500m record in a time of 4 minutes and 43 seconds.
Victorian Schools Netball Championships
Intermediate Girls
It was an early start for our Year 9 and Year 10 Girls Netball teams as they headed to Melbourne to compete in the Victorian Schools Netball Championships last week.
But that didn’t stop our girls from hitting the court at full steam!
Both teams represented our College with great pride, showcasing their skills and determination. And all players walked away with their heads held high after finishing in the middle of their respective pools.
A special thank you to Ms Ryan, Mr Ortan, and Mrs Lees for their dedication in coaching and supporting the girls, both in the lead-up to the event and throughout the day.
Junior Girls
What an amazing experience it was for our Year 8 Netballers to compete at the State Netball Championships in Melbourne.
The girls played their hearts out, with everyone trying their best against some great competition.
With 3 wins and 4 close losses the girls demonstrated high quality skills as well as versatility and determination.
What a pleasure it was to coach a bunch of such talented girls!

Clay Target Shooting
On Monday 2 September, under extremely windy conditions Oliver W (Year 11), Marcus K (Year 9) and Will K (Year 7) attended the Swan Hill school clay target shooting event.
The participants came from various schools across the Swan Hill and Echuca region and all shot at two rounds of 12 targets over the day.
With the wind playing havoc on the targets and pushing them around our three boys still managed to shoot very well under the conditions.
Marcus won 3rd place in senior boys, Will placed 3rd in junior boys after winning a shoot off with another student due to a tied score. Oliver also shot well, placing a few behind Marcus in senior boys.
Well done!
