Model UN Conference

On Friday, 29 August, I and five other boys travelled down to Geelong to attend one of the Model United Nation conferences, hosted by fellow Edmund Rice school, St Joseph’s College, Geelong. Our group was assigned the country of Rwanda and the other team was assigned Japan. We sought solutions and ideas to relieve the projected issue; Peace keeping and conflict. 

The event was led by Ian Howie – a previous member from the United Nations, providing a true and accurate insight into what international political discussions looked like. The event saw over 130 participating students, which enhanced our communication and collaboration skills. It was indeed a great opportunity for all of us participating, and the information provided was something that all people should be informed on adequately.
