Theatre Studies Excursion – Wednesday, 20 August

In Week 5 our Year 9-12 Theatre Studies students had the amazing opportunity to head down to Melbourne alongside Loreto College to see Melbourne Theatre Company's production of Kimberly Akimbo.

As part of their coursework, students analyse and evaluate a live piece of theatre, and our Year 12 students must write about his production on their end of year exam.

This was an exceptional musical with standout performances by Casey Donovan and Marina Prior amongst others. The production told the story of 16-year-old Kimberly who suffers from a rare genetic condition that causes her to age rapidly, making her appear elderly. The musical was cleverly funny and heart aching at times.
