Book Week - Tuesday, 25th August
The Monash University Science and Engineering Challenge
STEM-oriented students from Year 9 and 10 participated in the Monash University Science and Engineering Challenge on the 17th of July 2026.
The participants were: Tyler Banks, Braith Bates, Xavier King, Terry Lacey, Jasmin Leggo, Ruby Miller, Charlie Morozoff, Hayley Stephens (year 9), and Alex Best, Blake Bryne, Jasper Martin, Eliza Mutsaers, Scarlett Nicholls, Evan Salce, Ame Suriadikusumah, Eric Young (year 10). Mikayla Sheehan accompanied the students to Monash University, where they represented our school in a day-long hands-on event designed to provide high school students with a positive experience of science and engineering. The activities included Bridge building, EcoHabitech, Confounding communications, and many more. Jaynee Sherrard played a huge role in encouraging students to step up out of their comfort zone and embrace the challenge.
VHAP Program (Year 7 and 8) Term 3
It is with great pride that we announce that four of our students have been selected to participate in the Victorian High-Ability Program (VHAP), an initiative of the Department of Education. The VHAP is an online program delivered by Virtual School Victoria (VSV) and is designed to extend select high-achieving students from schools across Victoria.
Term 3 VHAP program participants are Chris Wright (Yr 8), Eden Taylor (Yr 8), Mason Murray (Yr 7), and Nate Wilson (Yr 7). Previously, Naija Tempest (year 7) successfully completed the Term 2 VHAP program.
MND Big Freeze
What an amazing fundraising effort by staff and students! Collectively, we raised $1,278, of which $749 will be donated to MND. The remaining funds will support future SRC initiatives.
Free Dress Day 25th Aug Book Week
We are celebrating Book Week (24th Aug-28th Aug), packed with fun and activities to promote literacy among students. Stay tuned for many more exciting events!
Author’s Visit – 7-9 HAP students
Author R. A. Spratt of the popular Friday Barnes series will be visiting us from NSW on the 26th of August to give a talk to year 7-9 students enrolled in the High Ability Program.
Premier's Reading Challenge
The challenge ends on Friday, 4 September 2026. All students are encouraged to continue reading and uploading titles to the PRC Website.
