Year 7 Report

Term 3 has been an incredibly busy and exciting term for our Year 7 students, particularly in the areas of sport and music. We are extremely proud to have 15 Year 7 students representing the College in Matilda the Musical, which is a fantastic reflection of their engagement and willingness to get involved in the wider College community.

A write-up by our Year 7 Leader, Charlotte Flynn, who is participating in this year’s musical:

Our musical this year is Matilda Junior, which has been off to a great start. We have had rehearsals every Thursday and on every strike day, and we have just started Sunday rehearsals to clean everything up. Every rehearsal we have, I always love to see 10 cast members and 5 people from the production team from Year 7 show up. It brings me so much joy to know that so many Year 7s would be comfortable on stage and are excited to participate in this musical, and possibly more musicals to come! With less than 2 weeks to go, the cast is excited, nervous, and delighted that the musical is almost over, as we have poured our blood, sweat, and tears into ensuring this musical is perfect.

Sport has also been a highlight this term, with students competing in the State Cross Country, Girls’ and Boys' Netball SMR Final, Boys’ State Quarter Finals, and Division Basketball. We have experienced great success across many of these events, with our students consistently representing the College with pride, enthusiasm, and excellent sportsmanship.

It has been fantastic to see our Year 7 students embracing these opportunities and demonstrating such strong commitment to both sport and the performing arts.
