Year 8 Report

Year 8 team update
I would like to take a moment to thank Michael Burrows for his time as Year 8 Leader. Michael has done a terrific job with this cohort, and much of what we celebrated at our recent assembly reflects the standards he has set and the relationships he has built with our students and families.
Michael has now moved into the SWPB Leader role at the College. It is an important role, and one he is very well suited to; we wish him every success in it.
I am pleased to let you know that Logan Dickson has stepped into the Year 8 Leader role. Dale Watson continues as Year 8 Co-ordinator, so there is plenty of familiarity and continuity for our students.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning or wellbeing in Year 8, please contact Logan or Dale in the first instance. They are always happy to hear from you.

Year 8 Assembly and Values Board
We wanted to share how proud we are of the Year 8 cohort at the moment.
At our recent assembly, we handed out Vision and Values awards for Connection, Respect, and Growth, and what struck us was where these students earned these awards. Not in big moments, but in ordinary ones across a school day. In the way they walk into a classroom, ready to learn. In the way they speak to their teachers and to each other. In the way they carry themselves when they are out representing the college, and know that people are watching.
We also celebrated our 100% attendance students and the 28 Year 8s who had a perfect week from 10 to 14 July, and our values board keeps all of this visible day-to-day. Well done, 801, on top of the attendance leaderboard, and a big shout-out to 803 leading the way on values.
