Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,
Welcome Back to Term 4!
Welcome back to Term 4!
Our Year 1s have covered so much in their first week back! It has been wonderful to see them so engaged, enthusiastic and ready to learn.
We have started our Guided Inquiry unit, ‘Healthy Me’, where we will be learning about the different ways we can look after our health and wellbeing, including food choices, exercise, sleep, personal hygiene and activities that help us feel happy and healthy.
In Maths, we have enjoyed building our fluency with addition facts. Students are practising recalling addition facts quickly and accurately, while developing strategies to help them solve addition problems with confidence.
In English, we have been reading My Farm by Alison Lester. Students are exploring the text, building their vocabulary and developing their comprehension skills as they read, discuss and respond to the story.
What would you do if you were Principal for the Day? As part of our Year 1 Persuasive Writing unit, students are learning how to share an opinion and give reasons to persuade their reader. They are responding to the topic, ‘If I were Principal for the day…’, and we are looking forward to seeing the creative ideas they come up with!
It has been a fantastic first week back, and we are excited for all the learning and experiences Term 4 will bring.
