Book Fair is over for yet another year! We have been running Book Fair at Yarra Road for well over 10 years. The best part has been seeing the excitement on students’ faces when they spot Book Fair arriving, and the anticipation when they come with their class to have a look!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the parents who helped at Book Fair this year. Thank you to Bec R, Felicity R, Tara L, and Vanessa A for giving up time to lend a hand in making this special event happen for our students.

This year we sold over $4,000 worth of books, which is absolutely fantastic. As a result, we were able to choose around $800 worth of books for our school library. We still have Scholastic points left, which will go towards literacy resources for the classrooms. These resources will include a large set of decodable take-home books for the Prep - Year 2 classes. 

In previous years, we have used our Scholastic points to get our beautiful library floor rug, book display units, colourful book tubs for classroom libraries, sets of books for senior school classes, Lexile reading cards for guided reading, and many, many more resources that support the teaching of reading from Prep to Year 6 – as well as thousands of dollars worth of books for our library! What an amazing achievement!
