Prep Enrolments for 2027

A friendly reminder that Prep enrolments for 2027 are now open. If you have a child commencing school next year, enrolment packs are available from the office, and families are also welcome to book a school tour to learn more about our school.

We are excited to welcome our new Prep students and their families and look forward to having them join our school community.

Early Arrivals to School

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students, we ask families to remember that students should not arrive at school before 8:45am, as staff supervision is not available prior to this time.

For families who require an earlier drop-off time, our TheirCare Before School Care program provides a safe and supervised environment for students before the start of the school day. Families interested in accessing this service can contact TheirCare directly for enrolment and booking information.

Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all students.

Donut Day

A big thank you to our Parents Association for organising and running this year's Donut Day. The event was a fantastic success and brought plenty of excitement and smiles to students across the school.

Not only was Donut Day a fun treat for our students, but it was also a wonderful opportunity to bring our school community together. The enthusiasm and support shown by families helped make the day such a positive experience for everyone involved.

We are incredibly grateful to the members of the Parents Association and the volunteers who generously gave their time to organise, prepare, and distribute the donuts. Their ongoing commitment and support play an important role in strengthening our school community and creating memorable experiences for our students.

Thank you to the Parents Association for another successful event and to all the families who supported it.

Gala Day Success

Congratulations to all of our students who represented the school at the recent Interschool Gala Day. Throughout the day, our students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, determination, and respect, making us incredibly proud both on and off the field.

Whether celebrating victories or facing challenges, our students displayed a positive attitude and represented our school with pride. Their efforts, enthusiasm, and commitment to their teams were outstanding.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the parent volunteers and coaches who generously gave their time to support our students. Events such as Gala Day would not be possible without the assistance of our wonderful school community. Your encouragement, organisation, and support throughout the day were greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone involved in making the day such a success.

School Uniform and Safety Reminder

To help keep all students safe and comfortable during their school day, we kindly ask families to support our uniform expectations with safety in mind. Closed–toe shoes help protect feet during outdoor play, movement, and when using equipment.

Small studs or sleepers are the safest option for earrings, as larger or dangling styles can be more easily caught during play.

Necklaces, bracelets, and similar accessories are best kept for home, as they can sometimes be accidentally pulled or become caught on clothing or playground equipment. Jewellery that could be caught by a finger or item during play can increase the risk of injury, so we encourage simple and safe choices. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in keeping our students safe.

If you have any questions about uniform expectations, please contact the school office.

Community Pantry

A reminder to families that the Hands of Yarra Community Pantry is available to support all members of our Yarra Road community. Conveniently located outside the school office, the pantry can be accessed during school hours.

Families are welcome to visit the pantry and take what they need. If you would prefer a Family Box to be prepared for collection, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist.

Donations Needed

We are gratefully accepting all donations to help keep the pantry stocked and supporting our community. At the moment, we are particularly in need of:

  • Rice, pasta and meal bases

  • Toiletries

  • Lunchbox snacks

All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated and help support members of our school community.

Next time you are in the office, be sure to take a look at our Community Pantry!

URGENT SAFETY REMINDER – KEEP CLEAR ZONES

We have recently observed an increase in vehicles stopping and parking in the designated “Keep Clear” zones at the front of the school. This is a safety concern and we ask all parents and carers to please ensure they are not stopping, waiting, or parking in this area at any time.

The Keep Clear zones are specifically designed to provide students with a safe crossing point and to maintain clear visibility for both pedestrians and drivers. When vehicles occupy these spaces, students can become hidden from view, significantly increasing the risk of an accident during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

The safety of our students is our highest priority. We ask all families to follow the road signage, use designated parking areas, and allow extra time when arriving at or leaving school.
