Our Year 10 Food Technology students have been exploring the rich flavours of Italian cuisine. They have created a range of delicious traditional dishes and desserts, including calzone, pasta, chicken risotto and tiramisu.
As they continue to build their skills and confidence in the kitchen, the boys are now in the final stages of preparation for their exciting MasterChef Cook-Off in Week 9. We look forward to seeing – and tasting – their culinary creations!

Year 11 English students were delighted to recently welcome a very special guest to the classroom: Floyd, the Golden Retriever.
Floyd is a service dog who supports schools throughout our diocese and has quickly become a much-loved member of the Saints community. With his gentle nature and calming presence, Floyd brings comfort and encouragement wherever he goes.
This term, Year 11 students have been preparing and delivering persuasive speeches on contentious issues affecting young people in contemporary society. As part of their assessment, students were required to present their speeches before a live audience of their peers; a challenging experience that can test even the most confident speakers.
Floyd's visit provided a welcome sense of calm and reassurance throughout the presentations. His presence helped ease nerves, reduce anxiety and create a positive atmosphere in which students could focus on sharing their ideas with confidence.
The boys thoroughly enjoyed having Floyd in the classroom, and his impact was evident throughout the session. We are grateful for his visit and look forward to welcoming him back to Saints again soon.

Will Powell, in Year 10, and Carlos Frances, in Year 9, represented Saints at the Business Liaison Association's Salthouse Culinary Challenge held recently at Tully State High School.
Students had to prepare and present a dish that either reflected their cultural heritage or showcased a cuisine they are particularly passionate about.
Will created Fish Carpaccio and Lemon Meringue Pies, while Carlos prepared Mexican Tacos. Both students performed exceptionally well, demonstrating creativity, skill and enthusiasm throughout the competition.
They now eagerly await the results, which will be announced by the BLA at the end-of-year Aspire Awards.
