Celebrating 100 Days of PREP

Last Friday, we were thrilled to mark a major milestone, 100 Days of School! Our Foundation "Superheroes of Learning" came dressed to impress in a sea of bright, colourful outfits. Looking back over the year so far, it has been a true joy to watch our Foundation students grow in confidence, resilience, and curiosity. We are so proud of everything you’ve achieved. Well done, Foundation!

Literacy 

The Foundation students practiced generating an oral simple sentence using a visual, then they used the Colourful Semantics writing boards to write a simple sentence containing the 'who' and 'what doing' words. 

For reading this week, our mentor text was The Very Cranky Bear by Nick Bland. The students loved listening to the story, identifying the characters and setting, and exploring how the characters felt throughout the adventure. To finish up, everyone drew a scene from their favourite part of the story and practiced writing the title!

Maths

In Maths, subtraction or take-away is our focus. The students used pictures to tell a subtraction number story; they also used concrete materials and drawings to represent a subtraction story. They are beginning to write a number sentence to match the visual representation. 

Basketball clinic 

Last Wednesday our Foundation students had a great time taking part in a basketball clinic. They practised skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting through fun games and activities.
